Mission: make salt visible in our daily lives.

Human bodies need salt to function. And we feel better when we eat together, and cook with each other.

The Salty Project explores how salt, a mineral harvested all over the world, connects us. 

Over fourteen months, we made twenty-two vessel prototypes and many magazine drafts, as we created a new container and took photos of salt flats across six countries. 

We hope salt and the stories of salt will have a place of honor on your tables.

CW&T is the art and design practice of Che-Wei Wang + Taylor Levy. We live in a world of our own making. It's a world where every object has its purpose, although not always purposeful, and where common objects receive uncommon consideration.

Kristen Taylor (kthread) is the creator of Saucy, a six-issue independent print magazine about how food connects – and disconnects – us. She has worked at Serial podcast, Al Jazeera, PBS, and taught courses at NYU’s ITP graduate program on community design.
